You would like an au pair student in your family

Status of au pair student:

"The au pair placement consists of temporary acccommodation within a family, in return for certain services, for your foreigners who have the objective of improving their linguistic or professional skills and to improve their general culture through better knowledge of the country of temporary residence.
(Article 2, European agreement on au pair placement, 24 November 1969)
To receive an au pair student, you must :
• have one or more children aged under 14. For children under 2, you must also have another home assistance (nanny, mother at home, crèche, etc).
• live in Paris, or a suburb that has easy public transport access, or in a town which has French lessons for foreigners in an establishment approved by the Ministry of National Education (10 hours a week minimum).
• be French (one of the two parents).
The au pair student shares daily life with the family.
He/she has the right to:
  • sleep in his/her separate and comfortable room
• be fed, including at weekends and during the holidays
• receive a minimum of 75 € per week + transport pass
• at least one day off a week
The family is responsible for subscribing the au pair to the National Health and Social Security system, which will guarantee treatment for illness or a work accident. Charges to pay to URSSAF will be paid in full by the family and amount to 190 € per month.

The student au pair will work 30 hours a week and should, principally, take care of the children. He/she can also carry out household chores, but no heavy work. The family may also request two evenings of babysitting a week.
