You would like to work as a student au pair in France

Status of student au pair:

"The au pair placement consists of temporary acccommodation within a family, in return for certain services, for your foreigners who have the objective of improving their linguistic or professional skills and to improve their general culture through better knowledge of the country of temporary residence.
(Article 2, European agreement on au pair placement, 24 November 1969)
Conditions :
The student must:
• be between 18 and 27 years old
• be non-francophone
• be single
• be in good health
• have A-levels or equivalent
• fave studied French for at least a year
• be experienced or like looking after children
• be registerd in an approved school for studying the French language (10 hrs per week)
  • commit to a placement for between 6 and 12 months (with the possibility of a summer stay of 1 to 3 months)
• have a long-stay VISA*
• request a residents paremit as soon as they arrive in France**

The au plair placement cannot exceed a duration of one renewable year one year more.The best time to arrive in a family is in the autumn, when the children return to school in September. The school year ends at the end of June. In Summer, the placement period is from 1 to 3 months, between 15th June and 15th September.
